What is t he best engine to use, if you’re trying to build a mini bike that has plenty of speed to it.?
I’m trying to build my own mini bike but I want one that has speed and is light I’m not sure what kind of engine I should put in it. Something that has around 8 hp.
I suggest a briggs and stratton gokart motor, as parts are very easy to come by and they are very popular. I highly recommend the 5 horse model (like the ones used for racing), as you can very easily modify the engine to produce more power. I used to race karts, and built my own motors that put out around 12-15 hp. Not to mention, when you use that specific motor, you have the option of changing the gearing, tuning the clutch, etc….
