Formatting a hard drive on a Compaq laptop?
I have a Compaq V5000 laptop computer> I have a virus. Us told me to restart the computer. Once the screen is starting to keep pressing F10. I was told it would take to do this screen.When Restoration, which ends in my bios.I wondering if anyone knows how to format / Restore my computer to factory settings? Thank you.
Ive had some very nasty virus before and I to reinstall the operating system. During reinstallation, which calls you want to do with your hard drive. One option would be to reformat the hard drive which erases everything including the virus. To start the installation (im assuming Op-Windows) Insert the installation disk or a backup disk and press F10 to enter the BIOS. Then go to the Startup and set the boot device priority to be the order of your CD / DVD, and then the disk. Then save and exit. This will continue booting, but before coming to Windows, you can see the letters on the screen saying "Press any key to boot from the hard …….." then press a button. You will see Windows created at the beginning and follow the instructions and directions and must go. WARNING: you can back up files you need, such as documents and photos as they are cleared with Hardrive format.
